Official vBulletin Cloud is switching to SSL

    We are pleased to provide this advance notice that in the weeks ahead all vB Cloud forum sites will be migrated to SSL (Secure Sockets Layer/TLS 1.2).

    This will help ensure the privacy of your site's users and prevent hackers from stealing user credentials such as passwords and authentication cookies. Your site's pages will now be served via HTTPS. This prevents so-called "man-in-the-middle" attacks, and is particularly valuable for users accessing your site via Wi-Fi. Your users will see the green padlock indicator in their browser, assuring them of the security of your site.

    From your perspective another important benefit is that Google is now making an HTTPS connection a ranking signal; sites without a secure connection will rank lower in search results. vBulletin is handling the SSL certificate for your site and nothing is required from your side.

    This upgrade is optional; if you wish to opt out of SSL for you site simply contact vBulletin's customer support anytime in the next couple weeks to opt out. Since the URLs of your site will change to include the "https" we will give you advance notice of the deployment of this upgrade several days ahead of time.
