Hi all,
I am looking to buy a second hand forum software. I have read about people offering to sell or buy the 3 popular software, IPB, vBulletin and Xenforo. However, I got confused with things like ownership transfer allowed only once, extra charges for transferring license, different version of the software, Xenforo no more in development and so on.
Can someone please help to explain this without me going into these one by one? I looked in FAQs for vBulleting and Xenforo and they do not answer questions about using a used license.
My requirement is as below:
- very tight budget. As low as possible.
- only the basic forum software needed.
- must support browsing using mobile
- prefer one without the need to renew the license every year
